TULIPA REMBRANDTIANA II
Catharina, “pure,” echoes the Dutch nobility of the Golden Age. Strong contrasts define this tulip: a stem anchored in darkness, petals glowing as if under a painter’s light.
-
On a 10-day trip to Amsterdam, I gave myself a small daily ritual — to draw one tulip each day. Each piece reflects how I was feeling in that moment, turning petals and stems into a quiet diary.
Inspired by Rembrandt’s deep shadows and the still-life paintings of the Dutch Golden Age, I explored how light and detail can hold both the delicacy and drama of these flowers.
This series is a record of my days there, and of the joy in creating something, slowly, every day.
